Balthazar is an R&D platform for deep-tech labs to manage experiments, prototypes, and results.
- Designed the frontend architecture and developed the product's frontend from scratch through production launch: a React and TypeScript SPA built using Feature-Sliced Design and Effector.
- Developed interfaces for managing experiments, analysing results, and visualising data using AG Grid, Perspective WASM, and the Canvas API, enabling efficient work with large volumes of experimental data.
- Implemented real-time updates for experimental results and comments using WebSockets, keeping data up to date and enabling collaborative work without page reloads.
- Established an automated testing setup using Playwright and Vitest, and configured Docker-based development and testing environments to ensure reproducible tests and reduce regression risks in both local development and CI.
- Built and maintained an internal UI kit based on shadcn/ui, implementing Figma designs to improve component reusability, UI consistency, and accessibility (a11y).
- Implemented and optimised responsive layouts for tablets, laptops, and widescreen monitors, ensuring correct rendering across different screen sizes.
- Optimised application performance for slow and unstable network connections and low-powered devices by improving rendering, reducing bundle size, and eliminating unnecessary API requests, making the interface more responsive.
- Integrated REST APIs, implemented Keycloak-based authentication, and contributed to defining API contracts using the OpenAPI Specification. Reviewed frontend code before releases, paying particular attention to handling untrusted data and protecting sensitive information in the browser.
- Integrated Claude Code and GitHub Copilot into development, testing, and code review workflows, accelerating task completion and reducing repetitive work.
